The 2nd Oil and Gas Skills Expo Bulletin
The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU)’s effort in defining and implementing sectoral linkages is derived from its mission to regulate and monitor the petroleum sector to create lasting value for society and contribute to Uganda becoming a sound investment destination.
The National Content Regulations 2016 require the PAU to conduct studies and research that may further the development of national content in petroleum activities. Currently, 90% of the 14,600 employees in the Oil and Gas projects are Ugandans.
Priority for employment is given to Ugandans at all levels, with positive discrimination for the communities hosting these operations. In line with our strategic plan, the Authority continues to create visibility for national content initiatives.
One way to achieve this is through organising platforms like the Second Oil and Gas Skills Expo. The Expo, therefore, brings representatives from the private sector, academia, and government to deliberate on skilling and employment opportunities in the Oil and Gas Sector.
